Hindi and Hinglish negative keywords for Google Ads
Updated 28 October 2026
Indian searchers mix Hindi and English: website banane wala, sasta seo package, digital marketing naukri, website kaise banaye. An English-only negative keyword list misses all of them, so the budget keeps leaking. Here is the list NexOper uses.
Do-it-yourself searches in Hinglish
These people want to learn to do it themselves, not hire you. Usually a phrase negative:
kaise banaye kaise banaen kaise banate kaise banaya kaise kare kaise karen kaise sikhe khud se कैसे बनाएं कैसे बनाये
Hinglish and Hindi words, and what they mean
| Meaning | Words searchers type |
|---|---|
| cheap | sasta, saste, sasti, सस्ता, सस्ती |
| cost | kharcha |
| course | कोर्स |
| free | muft, mufat, free me, free mein, मुफ्त, फ्री |
| how | कैसे |
| job | naukri, naukari, rozgar, नौकरी |
| learn | sikhna, sikhe, seekhe, seekhna, सीखें, सीखना |
| make | banana, banane, banaye, banwana, banwane, banwaye |
| near | nazdeek, paas, नजदीक, पास |
| price | kimat, keemat, daam, कीमत |
| recruitment | bharti, भर्ती |
| shop | dukan, dukaan |
| study | padhai |
| vacancy | वैकेंसी |
| website | वेबसाइट |
| work | kaam |
Not every word here is a negative. banwana (“get it made”) and kimat (“price”) are buying words: keep them. naukri (job), sikhna (learn) and muft (free) usually waste money. NexOper reads them as meanings, so naukri, naukari and नौकरी are one decision, while the negative added to Google Ads is always the word the person actually typed.
Devanagari searches
Google Ads matches negatives literally, so नौकरी needs its own negative even if naukri is already blocked. Add both scripts.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need separate negative keywords for Hindi and Hinglish?
Yes. Google matches negative keywords literally: naukri, naukari and नौकरी are three different words.
Is 'sasta' always a negative keyword?
No. For budget businesses 'sasta' (cheap) can convert well. Block it only for premium offers, or review its conversions first.
